In the book " The boy in the striped pajamas" nine-year old Bruno, a boy in Berlin Germany during the war, enbarks on a journey to see how life really is on the other side of the fence...where he finds the boy in the striped pajamas.

The book, The Boy In The Striped Pajamas, by John Boyne shows how life was like in the time of world war I. Join Bruno the nine-year old as he starts to learn about the world around him. Bruno's father works for the army... the German army. Now understand that Bruno doesn't understand the concept of war. When his family moves to a place in the middle of nowhere, Bruno finally gets so bored and tired of being there that he goes exploring. After a couple hours of searching, Bruno discovers a fence and on the other side is the boy in the striped pajamas . . .

I liked how sometimes I actually knew more about the war than Bruno does this intreguied me to see if he would learn anymore or if I would learn anymore. This book is educational yet fictional. If I were to pick a book for my class to read this would be one of my choices. ( my daugher read and reviewed this book, 13yrs old)
